Spleen of St. Louis, Star Wars, & Wilder shop sale!

I have not been typing here for over a year from the looks of things. Well I've been very busy with creating films, building sets, wrangling mischievous actors, pointing cameras at them and so on. Also this last year found me very involved with the talented and demented people (vampires and zombies) over at the Darkest Hours television show. I have appeared several times on the show as an actor and behind the scenes as camera man, director, doing a bit of writing for the show, and lending the use of my studio facilities for a short while. You can find out more about this ghoulish endeavor over at www.darkestjack.com

I helped make several film shorts last year and 2010 some of which can be now found on www.youtube.com/fredwilder.
2009 and 2010 Titles are: The Santa Run, The Ginger Bear, Label Horrors, and Spleen of St. Louis.

July 24th and 24th 2010 my fluxus art film SPLEEN of St. LOUIS, will screen at the FLUXUS St. LOUIS event in St. Louis, Missouri. This film tells the story of a very young Fred Wilder who lost his spleen do to an automobile accident in the late 1960s in of all places St. Louis Missouri, USA. The film is made up of some archival footage and old public domain films, and I wrote and shot the last half of the film earlier this year at St. Croix Studios.
Spleen of St. Louis features the acting talents of Erin Maureen Fitzpatrick, Jordan Gage, and Fred Wilder, in the strange surgical scene. With voice work by Ms. Zen Josey, and Jack Ritchie who give voice to my poetry in this film.

I have worked on so many film shoots these past few months that it's all a blur at this point. Suffice it to say Das Puppets has some more beautiful footage in the can, and we have nearly completed the principle photography on writer director Candy Wilder's new Star Wars fan film were I am working as the art director, designer and builder of props and sets, and the Director of Photography, oh and the sound guy, and gaffer, and grip, and lighting guy, and well you get the picture. Next I build the swamp planet world of Degobah set complete with matte paintings and paper mache' trees, and I will also build a Yoda puppet from scratch. You can see most of the stuff I have built and or painted for this fan film project so far in the pics section of my profile. Oh yes I also built a full sized paper mache' mock up of a car for the characters Millie and Anakin to tool around the imaginary city with against a Blue-Screen.
I am very grateful for the June gloom this year that has made it possible to work all these long ours at the studio and I am not looking forward to another hot summer with so much yet to do on my plate.
