I NAILED BABY JESUS, has many meanings to many people the interpretation of this work I will leave up to you but I can tell you that last Easter Sunday Fred was searching for a new idea with a deeper meaning than he had ever held sight of when this lone child sized sandal with three fitted gem stones signifying the trinity thus the sandal of Baby Jesus appeared to him in the asphalt drive way of a gas station in sunny Fullerton, California. Fred picked it up and noticed the interesting pattern on the bottom of the baby Jesus sandal and he took the sandal home and made art prints with the impression of that very soul. Fred made only a short series of these works then Fred Nailed The Baby Jesus to a well worn piece of wood from his studio workshop. The wood has many holes drilled into it and there are remnants of spray paint on its surface giving a rich texture to this artwork.
